After suffering through the flu epidemic, and a suprising loss to MAC West Division rival HACC on Tuesday, the Messiah Men’s Volleyball team bounced back Friday night to beat the Nittany Lions of Penn State in 4 thrilling games. Currently ranked #24 in Division I, Penn State brought fierce competition to Grantham. The packed and rowdy Falcon crowd were not disappointed in many long and thrilling rallies. The Falcons would not be intimidated by the size and experience of the Nittany Lions, defeating them 25-23, 25-17, 23-25, 25-22. This would make the second EIVA Division I opponent the Falcons were victorious over. Sitting atop the Division II field at the #1 spot, Messiah looks to capitalize and build off the momentum of these big wins to finish off the last half of their season.
On Sunday, the Falcons traveled down the road to Gettysburg College, where they were victorious both over the host school and also visiting team Juniata. Messiah will face Penn College Tuesday, March 3, at 7:30 pm in Brubaker Auditorium.
