This Friday at 7:30 p.m., the #1 ranked Messiah Falcons (2-0) take on the visiting Marauders (0-1) from Millersville University in a rematch of the 2008 MAC Championship game. The rivalry should prove to be an exciting match up, especially with both teams suffering from illness and injuries.

Friday night in Brubaker belonged to the Falcons playing in one of the most intense matches in Messiah men’s volleyball history. Facing an extremely dominant Navy volleyball team, Messiah had the first true test in their competitive ’09 season. Despite losing the first game 21-25, the Falcons outlasted the Midshipmen to win the next three games 25-18, 32-30, and 25-22, in front of an exuberant crowd of close to 600 people.
The Messiah men’s volleyball team would like to thank all of the people who came out to support the team Friday night.
The Messiah men’s club volleyball team will play the United States Naval Academy this Friday, February 13th, at 7:00pm in Brubaker Auditorium.
Navy (a NIRSA division I team) was one of the few teams to defeat Messiah during their 2008 season and the rivalry remains fierce. Come show and shout your support for our Falcons tomorrow night!

The Messiah Men’s Volleyball team started their season in front of a 400+ crowd Friday night in Brubaker Auditorium. The Lions from PSU Altoona were no match for the high octane offense and rock solid defense of the Falcons, eventually falling 25-13, 25-14, 25-21.
This match was merely a warm up for the Falcons as they look forward to a very competitive schedule over the next few weeks with the Naval Academy, Millersville, and the Nittany Lions from Penn State all traveling to Grantham to face the defending national champions.
The Messiah Men’s Club Volleyball team will jump start their season tomorrow night, Friday the 6th, at 7:30pm in Brubaker Auditorium. The Falcons will be playing PSU Altoona.
Our team begins their 2009 season ranked #1 in national club polls after an undefeated 2008 season, winning their 3rd consecutive MACVC Conference Title (5th overall) and clinching the 2008 NCCS Division II National Championship. The Falcons look to build of the momentum off a strong 2008 season with returning key players in senior captain Luke Reichel, junior captain Mike Walker, and junior Ted Simmons, 2008 NCCS Division II MVP.
